Emily Irene VanCamp was originally keen on becoming a professional dancer but after a visit to Katie's studio in the Ladies Room, she became more interested in acting. She started taking acting classes, and also landed appearances on television shows in her native Canada. A few of the series that she had appeared in, besides other shows included: Are You afraid of the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp had a career breakthrough when he got a role on the WB horror-mystery show Glory Days as Sam Dolan. While the show was praised by critiques, it's poor ratings caused it to be ended after nine short episodes. The actress, born on May 12, 1986, was quickly offered another part in Everwood. She played Amy Abbott. Her part in the movie earned her 4 Teen Choice Awards nominations and a Young Artist Award.
